Hollywood and Vine, On this weekend of international attention to the neglected needs of a world ravaged by violence and war, we will break bread together with the homeless of Los Angeles in the sprit of peace and justice. Sunday March 21, 2004 Supper With the Homeless food provided by 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm LA Food Not Bombs serves meals to the homeless on a regular basis. As war dominates the priorities of our government, we join together to bring light to the needs of those left behind. When the bombs fall in Iraq and elsewhere in the world, the explosions wreak havock on the streets of Los Angeles and all across our own nation. ICUJP will pass out shoes (gathered for the installation held on Thursday March 18 with the AFSC at the Westwood Federal Building) to the needy. Health Kits will also be provided. Congresswoman Maxine Waters will be the guest speaker at a community forum on the crisis in Haiti 5:30 pm Sunday, March 21 at the African American Cultural Center (Us) Congresswoman Waters will give an update on her efforts to free President Aristide and challenge the Bush Administration’s racist policies towards Haiti. She was the head of the delegation that traveled this weekend to the Central African Republic to return President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to the Caribbean community. President Aristide had been held in CAR after being ousted in a U.S.- backed coup on February 29.
