ICUJP members and allies marched through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles and blocked the street in front of the Federal Building to protest the invasion and occupation of Afghanistant as another development of the immoral U.S. imperialist wars. The action was lead by one of ICUJP's founders Rev. Dr. George Regas of All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, California. Fourteen peace activists were arrested by LAPD.

presented Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP) with the 'Unity and Renewal Award' for its unwavering commitment to promoting peace, justice and mutual understanding since its formation after the 9/11 attacks.

On Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, Rev. Dr. George Regas spoke with Uprising host Sonali Kolhatkar about the 9/11 anniversary and the Sunday event. Rev. Regas is one of the founders of ICUJP.
